These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) apply to our ‘The Smartest Prize Draw Ever’ prize draw (the “Prize Draw”) and are separate to the OVO Energy Terms and Conditions which govern the supply of energy to you (“Core Terms”) and any additional terms and conditions which relate to your chosen OVO Energy tariff.

The promoter of the Prize Draw is OVO Energy Limited (“OVO", “We”), which has its registered offices located at 1 Rivergate, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6ED and is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 06890795.

The Prize Draw is a free to enter monthly prize draw where customers who have a smart meter installed in their property could win free energy for a year - a £2,074 Smart Energy Credit (‘Credit’). The value is based on the Ofgem price cap set for 1 July 2023 based on the average spend of a typical household using 12,000 kilowatt hours of gas a year, and 2,900 kilowatt hours of electricity a year, and pays by Direct Debit.

The Prize Draw will run from 17 July 2023. We reserve the right to withdraw the prize draw at any time.

The Prize Draw is open to OVO customers who currently have a traditional (non-smart) meter who have a new smart meter installed. Pre-payment customers are not currently eligible.

Each month customers who book a smart meter installation following receipt of their Prize Draw entry invite will be automatically entered into the Prize Draw following the installation of their smart meter. Customers that receive a smart meter booking confirmation communication from 14 August 2023 (mailing date) will also be automatically entered into the Prize Draw following the installation of their smart meter.

You will be automatically entered into the Prize Draw which takes place the month following the month during which your smart meter was installed so if, for example, if your smart meter was installed in February you would be entered into March’s draw. You will only be entered into one prize draw. The first prize draw will comprise both July and August’s entrants and will take place in September 2023.

The Prize Draw is open to existing OVO customers who currently have a traditional (non-smart) meter who have a new smart meter installed in accordance with these Terms. Pre-payment customers are not currently eligible.

Please note that not all customers may be eligible for a smart meter installation. For more information please visit https://www.ovoenergy.com/can-i-get-a-smart-meter. If you book your appointment but cannot get a smart meter installed for any reason then you will not be entered into the Prize Draw. You will also not be entered into the Prize Draw if you book an appointment then cancel but do not reschedule your appointment.

If you are a winner, the Credit will be automatically applied to either your electricity or gas account (if you are a duel fuel customer you will only receive one credit even if you have two separate smart meters installed for each fuel) within 30 calendar days of the draw and will be shown separately on your next bill following your credit being applied. If, for some reason the Credit is not applied to your account, you have a maximum of 3 months from your smart meter install to contact us and make a claim.

The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

One winner will be chosen each month from a random draw of eligible entries in accordance with these Terms. The draw will take place in the second week of the month and will include all customers who successfully had a smart meter installed during the previous month. The draw will be performed by a random computer process.

Each month’s winner will be notified within 30 days of the draw taking place by email, phone or mail using the contact details we hold for your account. It is your responsibility to ensure that these details are up to date.

If you are the Winner of the Prize Draw, you agree that OVO may use your name and town or county of residence to announce the winner and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes, and you agree to cooperate with any other reasonable requests by OVO relating to any post-winning publicity.

OVO reserves the right to amend or alter these Terms at any time. We also reserve the right to amend or withdraw this Prize Draw at any time.

OVO’s decision regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. OVO reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

OVO reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.

This Prize Draw is governed by English Law and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
